Please continue to pray for the Yoder's especially Amber as she's flying back alone from a summer mission trip to Thailand today. She should arrive home this evening.
Update at 11:00 am~
Dawn, our amazing mother, wife, daughter has been declared brain dead by 2 doctors, with her EEG showing no activity. We believe that she entered heaven instantaneously 2 days ago, but we are now as a family turning her body over to the organ donation center of Alabama, so that she may share her life with others. That is typical of the life she lived, and it is so much like her. We will miss her, but we know she is in God's protective care, and we want to praise Him for his faithfulness. I write with this tears in my eyes, but with joy in my heart as Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his saints. And she definitely received "Well done, thou faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord. She is free at last! Jon, Robert, Kristin, Amber, and Stephen and all the family
Here is the first email we received on Monday am:Thanks for the prayers--Dawn is at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile, and just had a heart cath which was normal. She is stable from the standpoint of blood pressure and heart, but the main concern is her brain and its function after being without oxygen for as long as 10-15 minutes. Please pray that the damage there will be minimal; We should know something in 24-48 hours.
What happened was that Dawn was taking the trash out this morning, and was struck by lightning around 8:45 am. Stephen was at home and saw the lightning, but Dawn had a note that she was going to be picking blueberries at the neighbors, so he didn't look for her. A friend from church found Dawn in the front yard unconscious and not breathing, and we are not sure how long that was. She was in V-fib when she got to the hospital, but they were able to get all of that back. She is an amazing lady, and if anyone can recover, it will be her...with God's help---Jon and familyAnother update:
Hello to all! This is an update on Mom. We really don't have a lot of new information. She is still comatose but her vital signs are stable. The CT scan of her head showed bilateral subarachnoid hemorrhage, but her main problem continues to be anoxic brain injury. In other words, she has bleeding on the brain and probably had an extensive period without oxygen to the brain. So at this point, we just have to wait and see and see what the extent of the brain injury is going to be. She still has not responded in any way. The neurosurgeon just went in to see her. Thanks so much for all the calls, prayers, and encouragement. We can really feel the support of the body of Christ. We will try to send updates as we find out more. Keep praying for God's will, peace, strength, and wisdom for the decisions ahead.

Working in the flower beds has it's hidden rewards sometimes.
You never know what eyes you'll find looking back at you!
I am so blessed with a Godly husband who loves nature, fresh air & working in the soil. Guess that's why he's an excavator.
This was a picnic one evening at the local wildlife refuge, and yes, the hamburgs were delicious! Randy enjoys grilling with gas or over a campfire, but he even experiments with charcoal sometimes.
Three joys had done an entry on making these gorgeous fruit bouquets, and I really enjoyed it since I was working that day and missed out on the personal training session.
Well, this past Sunday, I saw personally what they look like. We had Randy's family here for Sunday lunch, and Jess, a sister-in-law brought this as their hostess gift. What a treat, and gorgeous, too!!!! Sorry for the poor lighting, and don't look too closely...there's some fruit missing in the back, and it was just as yummy as it looks!

I was blessed yesterday by a small, yet huge to me, direct answer to prayer as I did the weekly payroll at my employers. I'm so rusty on it having not done it for several months due to scheduling conflicts, and even when I do it, it's only once a month to keep me up on it.
My dear hubby, a good friend and I were praying it would go smoothly, wouldn't take too much longer than normal, and that I'd be spared a splitting headache from the information overload. I was so blessed when I got out actually about the same time or even earlier than a normal payroll day, didn't have even a sign of headache & as far as I know, everything went through ok! Just a good reminder for this gal, that God is interested in even our everyday, simple things! Trust Him!

Nature's Source Giveaway
Thought you all might like to try something new for free....how fun is that!
I've been a BzzAgent for over a year, and they recently sent me a BzzKit with four full size Nature's Source cleaning products to try for free.
If you're wondering what BzzAgent is all about, first, it's free to join. BzzAgent provides word of mouth (WOM) campaigns that allow members to try out new products for free and "BZZ" about them to everyone and anyone they know. After "bzzing" about a product, members submit reports explaining their WOM experience. These reports are then submitted and once approved by BzzAgent, points are given. These points are given through mypoints.com which will allow members to redeem points for gift cards.
Now onto what they sent....Nature's Source is a full line of fresh smelling natural cleaners by SC Johnson. They offer Glass & Surface, Toilet, All Purpose & Bathroom cleaner. The glass cleaner worked just as well as Windex, but without the ammonia smell...just fine with me! The toilet cleaner was a fresh change from the strong chlorox product I normally use, but the bathroom cleaner didn't due justice to our hard water scum in the tub. I didn't find that I would need the All Purpose cleaner as I just use my regular dish washing soap for these types of jobs.
I have two coupons to giveaway to try one of these products for free (up to $4.19) I will gladly send them on to two of you if you'll let me know by Tuesday, April 14. Happy Cleaning!

Date Night!
Some folks think we live a constant date since we don't have "littles" under our charge, but truth is...we still have to make an effort to go on a "date". We love doing it, but sometimes, we just need to put it on the calendar and make plans to get out on a date.
Last evening was one such treat! When my hubby asked what I would like for Christmas, I suggested to him that he make it a year-long gift. Of course, who doesn't like getting gifts all year?!?
My gift is to attend various community plays and musicals. This is quite a sacrifice as my dear hubby hates crowds and especially when he doesn't know anyone. We've gone to a few over the years and enjoyed them, but I don't usually push the issue because I know it's not his "cup of tea". We've seen several of Roger & Hammerstein's, Annie, and Arsenic & Old Lace.
Last night, we attended Mount Calvary Christian School's performance of Fiddler on the Roof. We saw a community performance of this in Alabama, and it was superb! We had our hopes high, but realizing this was a school production, we tried to not expect too much, but they were excellent! The students did an outstanding job, and I can't imagine the hours they've put into memorizing their lines and learning all the music!
And of course, no date is complete for us without sharing a french vanilla cappuccino on the way home!

SWAGBUCKS~free Starbucks!
Just wanted to let all you folks know about a pretty cool search engine I found out about 2 months ago. It's called Swagbucks, and you get points for using it. You can download their toolbar, and use it to accumulate your points for gift cards to various places including Starbucks & Amazon. It's easy to set up an account, too. All they need is your name and address so they can send out your gift card when you have enough points. So far, I've gotten two $5.00 gift cards to Starbucks, and am working on a third one(50 pts = 1 $5.00 gift card)...not too bad for searching the internet just like normal. It's not much, but I don't mind getting free gift cards for dates w/ my sisters or hubby!
If you have any questions, let me know. You can go here to find out more and sign up. And hope you enjoy those free trips to Starbucks, too!

Harvest Swap
I did something I've never done before!
I participated in a shoebox swap! I've been following Monica's blog for over a year, and it's been so rewarding! She is so creative, thrifty, challenging, and humble, too! Quite an encouragement. When she and her sister, Carrie, announced one of their shoebox swaps, I didn't have to think about it long. Of course, who doesn't like to get mail, and harvest....it's my favorite time of year!!! Kinda' a win-win situation!
I was paired with a sweet southern gal, Carrie, from N.C., (who actually visited 1/2 hr from our house last summer on vacation!!!!) and it was so fun to get to know her. Of course, I have a special place in my heart for the south after living in AL for 2 1/2 yrs, but this just added to it! I had fun getting her box together with special things that she had in her email that she enjoys, and since I don't have a picture of what I sent, you can go to her blog. Here is what she sent:
A pumpkin spice candle....my absolute favorite...and it's burning now!
Local molasses....I think this will make an absolute delicious shoofly pie
Mulling spices...never used this before, but they sound wonderful
Before Green Gables...I really enjoy reading, but don't usually take the time...I'm going to TAKE the time to read this one though!
Apple cinnamon tea...YUM!
Homemade Mexican Hot Chocolate mix....I'm sipping some right now.
Cinnamon linen spray....she wrote to use it like Fabreeze...it smells wonderful
"Too pretty to use" set of fall hotpads....how did you know I needed these, Carrie?!? Not sure that I can bring myself to use them though!
Thank you so much, Carrie, for the thoughtful wonderful items you selected for my box! It was truly like Christmas early!
When you get this close again, stop in!!!

WOW! We see the light at the end of the tunnel! Our committee has been great, working tons of overtime, and my dear hubby....I couldn't ask for a better leader than he! I am so blessed! Please continue to keep us all in your prayers, including Dwane & Carol Schildt as they prepare for the Retreat sessions. We are really excited and praying for God to work in our hearts in a mighty way this coming weekend! Hope you're enjoying this lovely fall weather!!!

About Me
-
We are enjoying being youth advisors at our church for the 70 youth! What potential and energy! :-) Randy enjoys hunting, hiking and grilling. Eunice tries out her green thumb, likes to read and spend time in the kitchen. We like to roam back country roads, find covered bridges, and explore new areas in the car or on a walk. Serving God together is top priority, though!
